We understand there may be questions about how an interruption in SNAP benefits could affect participation in Double Up Food Bucks NY (DUFBNY or DUFB). While we don’t control SNAP distribution, we want to assure you that DUFBNY remains fully operational and is ready to support both our participating retail partners and SNAP customers.
Below you’ll find answers to common questions along with resources to help you navigate the coming weeks. The following information applies to all DUFBNY retail partners as well as SNAP customers participating in the DUFBNY program.

Yes. SNAP customers can continue to spend any DUFB they’ve already earned, even if SNAP benefits are interrupted, or their SNAP balance is $0. This includes DUFB coupons accrued, loyalty card balances, account balances, and tokens.
Yes. Customers with SNAP balances carrying over into November can continue to earn DUFB on SNAP purchases of eligible fresh produce. As always, DUFB cannot be earned from purchases made with credit, debit, or cash.
Yes. We’re extending the Farm Direct season through November 30, 2025, to help ensure SNAP customers have increased access to fresh produce. SNAP customers with DUFB tokens or remaining SNAP balances can continue to use DUFB at farmers markets, farm stands, and other seasonal sites that remain open through November.
Yes. DUFB reimbursements will be distributed as usual and on the regular schedule for all participating locations. Please continue with standard reporting procedures to ensure the timely delivery of reimbursements.
SNAP customers can continue to spend any DUFB they’ve already earned at grocery stores and other year-round locations beyond November, even if SNAP benefits are interrupted. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide guidance to our Farm Direct locations by the middle of November.
Only DUFB coupons used at grocery stores have an expiration date of six weeks. All other types of DUFB currency do not expire. Please use the location finder on www.doubleupnys.com to see which currency type your nearest location accepts.
