Volunteers are an incredibly important part to the success of the Double Up Food Bucks program. We have a variety of unique ways to participate in these opportunities. If you find something that works for you and your schedule, please fill out the form at the bottom! We’d love to connect with you and your support is invaluable.
Double Up Advocates help us advocate for funding on a county and state level. They call legislators, encourage community members to sign petitions, share the message of Double Up Food Bucks when needed. There will also be the choice of joining the Double Up Food Bucks Alliance team, which is a group of passionate volunteers working together to ensure Double Up receives permanent state funding.
Commitment: ~5 hours a month
Friends of Double Up are community members who are passionate about Double Up Food Bucks and are willing to help with tabling events and signing up SNAP recipients with loyalty cards. They help with getting flyers out to different locations and canvasing.
Commitment: 2-40 hours a month
Our Double Up Allies are professional partners who can use their platforms and trust with their customers and clients to explain the value of Double Up and how to use it. Our allies also have more specific skills that can help our team build capacity. If you believe you have a skill that could help us out, including translation skills, please consider being a Double Up Ally!
Commitment: As needed and is appropriate
Double Up Ambassadors use their experiences to convince other people in their community about the benefits of Double Up Food Bucks. These are ideally people who have lots of experience with SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks and are willing to help others understand how the program works and the benefits of it.
Commitment: 1-20 hours a month
Visit a grocery store near you to help customers navigate the program. Contact us before you go to make sure you have all the right information and materials.
